Kayla Smith

Biography 

Kayla Smith is an Associate Attorney at The Hatchett Law Firm, PLLC, where she focuses her practice on Estate Planning, Probate of Wills, and Independent Estate Administrations. She works closely with individuals and families to understand their goals, family dynamics, and long-term priorities, crafting personalized estate plans that provide clarity, protection, and peace of mind. Kayla also guides clients through the independent probate administration process, helping executors carry out their responsibilities efficiently while providing practical advice during what is often a difficult season of life.  

During her undergraduate studies, Kayla competed as a member of her university’s varsity women’s soccer team, an experience that instilled discipline, resilience, adaptability, and a strong sense of teamwork—qualities that continue to shape her approach to the practice of law. While attending the University of Houston Law Center, she was an active member of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). 

Outside the office, Kayla enjoys spending time with her children, taking walks with her dogs, Lola and Cashew, and creating lasting memories with her family and friends. Known for her attention to detail, calm demeanor, and client-centered approach, Kayla is a valued member of The Hatchett Law Firm team and a trusted guide for the individuals and families she serves.
